What To Expect From The Workshop

Over many years of teaching flamenco Samuel has noticed one specific issue that many students struggle with. While most have a good working knowledge of flamenco technique and are confident when playing pre-composed material, if asked to perform in a more traditional manner, where spontaneous elements are required, many struggle.

This workshop (and the book it's based on) seeks to address this. Central to its philosophy is the notion that mastering simple compás (rhythm) ideas (in the context of of the palo soleá) and learning how to integrate them with other important performance components (such as falsetas and llamadas) is the key to unlocking flamenco’s spontaneous performance elements at a fundamental level.

By the end of the workshop you’ll have mastered many of soleá’s most important spontaneous performance elements, learnt how to integrate them into your playing and ultimately taken your knowledge of flamenco to the next level!
