So what's Samuel’s new book series about?

Over many years of teaching flamenco Samuel has noticed one specific issue that many students struggle with. While most have a good working knowledge of flamenco technique and are confident when playing pre-composed material, if asked to perform in a more traditional manner, where spontaneous elements are required, many struggle.

The ‘Flamenco Guitar Compás Essentials’ book series seeks to address this. Central to its philosophy is the notion that mastering simple compás (rhythm) ideas (in the context of different palos) and learning how to integrate them with other important performance components is the key to unlocking flamenco’s spontaneous performance elements at a fundamental level.

‘Compás Essentials: Soleá’ is the first book in the ‘Flamenco Guitar Compás Essentials’ series. It focuses exclusively on the palo soleá. To this end, the book has been divided into six chapters.
